Running Low.

This NaBloPoMo is really draining my brain.

And since I'm spending my evening working on a project that someone is actually PAYING for, today's post isn't going to get a lot of pithy attention.  But what it lacks in pith it makes up for in sheer presence. As in, it's here. That is all I can promise you.

Owing to the fact that my brain is all a-mush, I'm going to tell you about my day. (Feel free to take a snooze right now....) All times are approximate.

7.45    Woke up/showered
8.05    Kissed my kindergartner goodbye (Joe/Blake/Ian walked to school)
8.10    Brought up Hulu, watched the first 15 minutes of The Daily Show, checked email
8.30    Boys came home (light one kindergartner)
8.45    Made list for BJ's (cinnamon, bread, almond milk, deodorant), hunted for Blake's shoes
8.50    Found Blake's shoes, loaded up the toddler and headed to BJ's
9.00    Shopped with Blake. He was cheery. Ergo, I was cheery.
10.00  Home from BJ's. Moderate blog comments (grr), breakfast
10.15  Books with Blake (Barnyard Dance and The Belly Button Book over and over.)
10.30  Blake takes a nap!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!
10.32  Start cleaning while finishing The Daily Show and whittling down my Hulu queue
11.30  Play on the internet. Send/receive emails.
11.45  Play Grid Detective on my kindle.
12.15  Still playing Grid Detective. Feeling like a nerd.
12.30  Make Blake's lunch. Eat an English muffin with nutella before he wakes up.
12.45  Blake's up! I get to his room and he immediately signs, "Eat, please."
12.50  Blake gets his wish and eats....after I get my wish and change his diaper.
12:52  Cleaning while Blake puts away a pb&j, some dried apples, and an entire sippy cup of almond milk.
13.15  Make cinnamon dough for later. Blake organizes the tupperware drawer.
13.30  Make some major headway on the pre-winter kitchen deep-clean
14.00  Veg at the computer while Blake stacks blocks and walks while I'm not looking.
14.15  Load up to pick up Ian from school.
14.30  Ian emerges!
14.45  Home from school. Last-minute tidying (for me) and snacks (for boys) before a playdate
15.00  Playdate with Jacob and Catherine from next door.  Cinnamon dough ornaments!!
16.00  Kids play upstairs, I babysit ornaments while they bake. Also, more internet veg.
16.30  Kids still playing happily. I celebrate by playing more Grid Detective
17.00  Jacob and Catherine go home. The rest of us take a minute to have a snack and chill.
17.15  I think about starting dinner, but ignore those thoughts. More Grid Detective. Boys play.
17.30  Boys are now wrestling. Blake takes every opportunity to walk while my back is turned.
17.45  Still haven't started dinner. (Haven't been to the grocery store in a while....I'm stumped.)
18.00  Joe's home! Yay! I start dinner. (Honest truth: Egg salad sandwiches. Celery/Cucumbers/Hummus.)
19.15 Bedtime routine begins!
20:15 Bedtime routine ends after a happy birthday phone call to Granddaddy.
20:45 I go to the gym. The devil is playing hockey.

So there you have it. Nothing very exciting. Most days are some combination of play/clean/hulu/internet coma/kindle coma/cook/eat/errands. I don't tend to be the most productive mom in the neighborhood--not by a long-shot.

And now this post is over. Go ahead! You can wake up now!!!!

Enjoyed reading your day, though, it's fun to imagine how the day goes for other Mamas!
